If you’re fed up of filling in your eyebrows everyday, then brow tinting might just be for you. It’s a semi-permanent option that gives you a longer-lasting look, without the need to fork out on expensive micro-blading.
Quick, easy and totally affordable - eyebrow tinting is a win, win situation.
What does eyebrow tinting involve?
Much like when you’re getting your hair dyed, a base cream or petroleum jelly will be applied around your brow area to stop any of the dye from staining your skin. Then, the semi-permanent dye will be mixed up before being applied to your eyebrows with a spoolie brush. Some places will custom-mix the tint to get the perfect shade for you, whereas others might achieve the right shade by leaving the tint on for different amounts of time.
As a rule of thumb, you still want to stay 1 or 2 shades lighter than your hair color.
How long does eyebrow tinting take?
It takes between 7-10 minutes (depending on the hair type) before the dye is wiped away and your brows are done! The skin around your eyebrows shouldn’t have been affected by the dye – but if there is any staining don’t panic, this will wash away over the next day or so.
Can anybody get their eyebrows tinted?
Unless you’re allergic to any of the ingredients in hair dye (much like box color dye, we would prefer have to do a patch test first) eyebrow tinting works for pretty much anyone. Even the brightest of blondes and redheads can get their brows tinted.
How long does eyebrow tinting last?
A tint normally lasts between 4-6 weeks depending on your hair growth, time spent in the sun and how much you wash your face. It will fade away naturally and you’ll barely notice it’s even happening. Then one day you’ll wake up and realise you want them done again!
